It is well known that the Venus atmosphere above the cloud top rotates 60 times (100 m/s) faster than the rotation of the solid surface. It has been also suggested that the ionosphere of Venus rotates much faster (> 400-1000 m/s) than the cloud top rotation, but it could be a result of a systematic measurement error of PVO observations. Recently, not only measurements by Venus Express, but also those by Mars Express have pointed out the possibility of ionospheric superrotation both at Venus and Mars. In this seminar, I will introduce observational evidences and findings by previous studies of Venusian thermospheric superrotation and Venusian and Martian ionospheric superrotation, and discuss possible candidates to drive the ionospheric and thermospheric superrotation at Venus and Mars.
